Cotswold League Round 1

The first round of the Cotswold League on Saturday saw Norton Radstock off to a disappointing start managing only 115 points and just missing out on third place by one point. There were some excellent achievements with nine Personal Best times set and Tim Inns breaking the 13/Under Boys Club Record in the Individual Medley. Tim also won the Backstroke and Martin Lenihan had a convincing double victory in the Breaststroke and Butterfly. The 11/under Boys Relay teams, comprising Jack Barter, Fergus Bowen, Liam Willcox, Freddie Lenihan and Sam Church, also had great victories in both the Medley and Freestyle.
In the other age groups the going was tough against some very good competition. There were some solid second places for Jake Atkins (Butterfly), Nick Britton (Medley, Backstroke), Sarah Britton (Medley, Backstroke), Freddie Lenihan (Backstroke), Matthew Whatley (Freestyle) and Liam Willcox (Butterfly). There were also excellent seconds for the Girls 11/under Medley Relay, the Girls 13/under Freestyle Relay, the Boys 13/under Medley Relay and both the Boys and Girls Open Freestyle Relays.
Due to injuries on the night, Jonathan Harvey, Matthew Whatley and Liam Willcox all stepped into races at very short notice and performed extremely well.
